In a destination development, the amenities are part of what is being sold. At Safira, Elsewhere’s residential masterplan, Elsewhere Sports Club sits at the heart of the community, and every sporting discipline within it needs to feel like part of the place rather than a separate operator. In luxury property branding, that coherence is what turns a set of facilities into a reason to live there.
Elsewhere Padel Academy is one of the first disciplines to be given its own identity within that system, developed in partnership with the Egyptian Padel Association. The brief was twofold: to express the energy and professionalism of one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, and to set a pattern that future disciplines could follow without weakening the Elsewhere name.
SUM’s role began with the brand architecture, defining how the club and its growing family of sporting brands relate to one another. That work reframed the name itself. What began as Elsewhere Padel Club became Elsewhere Padel Academy, moving the brand from the language of access to the language of development, and positioning the discipline as a pathway rather than a facility.
The identity gives the Academy a character of its own while keeping it clearly part of Elsewhere. A wordmark and an Elsewhere endorsement mark carry that relationship. The visual language pairs contemporary sporting cues with a refined, editorial aesthetic: a shield, crossed rackets and restrained typography that sit comfortably beside the club’s heraldic crest. The system extends across apparel, signage and digital communications.
For SUM, the project shows how sports branding can serve a larger idea. Brand architecture and naming set the pattern for every discipline that follows, so that as Safira grows, each new academy adds to the value of the Elsewhere brand rather than competing with it.
